On 25th January 2020, Sebastian Kolowa Memorial University held its 7th graduation ceremony at the Benjamin William Mkapa Auditorium in Campus A.
 
The ceremony was opened  by the Chancellor of Sebastian Kolowa Memorial University, Bishop Dr. Stephen I. Munga. The Guest Speaker was the Ag. Regional Commission of Tanga region, Hon. Kisa Gwakisa Kasongwa.
 
The Graduation ceremony was preceeded by the 7th Convocation Annual General Meeting held on 24th January 2020 at Benjamin William Mkapa auditorium in Campus A. The Convocation was  followed by a prize giving ceremony to students and staff who had exhibited outstanding performance in various areas related to Teaching, Research and Community Service.
 
101 candidates have successfully completed their studies and qualified for the awards of certificates, diplomas and degrees of SEKOMU for the Academic year 2018/2019. Now that they have acquired knowledge, may they SERVE WITH COMPASSION!

 

The dormitories burned to ashes.
The night of 1st September 2016 was unfortunately not a good one to the Sebastian Kolowa Memorial University (SEKOMU) in Lushoto Tanga Tanzania. At around 11:00 PM the University was attacked by people who are suspected to have some terroristic traits and as a result a guard was shot dead and one of the dormitories burned to ashes.

The President of the United Republic of Tanzania, His Excellency Dr. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, commended SEKOMU for establishing a modern
auditorium. Officiating the opening of the new building on 9th July 2014, President Kikwete said the auditorium is one of its kind.
